What Makes You a Great Fit
We are looking for a Payroll Specialist II to join our Payroll Operations team. This full-time position is ideal for an experienced payroll professional who serves as a trusted resource for complex payroll matters and enjoys driving accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. You are comfortable leading payroll investigations, resolving complex payroll issues, supporting process improvements, and partnering with internal teams and external providers to deliver successful payroll outcomes. As a subject matter expert, you will play a key role in strengthening payroll operations, supporting compliance requirements, and providing guidance and support to other payroll team members. As a specialist II, the position spends time (over 85%) resolving complex payroll issues.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Manage payroll exceptions, adjustments, garnishments, benefit deductions, reconciliations, levies, and other complex issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues, including quarter-end and year-end processing and reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations and statutory requirements.
- Partner with internal teams, service providers, and in-country payroll vendors as their subject matter expert to resolve payroll matters.
- Support payroll process implementations, system updates, statutory changes, and program rollouts.
- Participate in testing payroll system enhancements and updates.
- Identify and implement process and documentation improvements, including automation opportunities.
- Monitor payroll performance metrics, including SLAs and KPIs.
- Provide support and guidance to other payroll specialists and payroll administrator team members to maintain quality and continuity of payroll delivery.
- Act with urgency and as 1st or 2nd escalation point for pressing issues to include as backup for Payroll Manager.
- Comfortable working directly with employees and clients to resolve complex payroll issues.
Let’s Connect If You Have:
- Experience managing end-to-end payroll operations across multiple countries (Americas, EMEA, and/or APAC), including payroll processing, validations, reconciliations, statutory filings, and compliance with local payroll regulations.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxability rules, earnings and deductions, gross-to-net calculations, and payroll best practices across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, interpret data, resolve exceptions, and ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
- Proven ability to implement payroll processes, support operational rollouts, and drive process improvements through automation, AI-enabled solutions, and technology adoption.
- Proficiency with payroll systems and related technologies, including the ability to quickly learn new platforms and tools.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively partner with internal teams, external vendors, and government agencies in a remote work environment.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and attention to detail when handling confidential employee and payroll information.
- 3-5 years of payroll experience required, preferably with a payroll service provider.
