Micron's registered apprenticeship program

Micron’s Registered Apprenticeship Program gives you the opportunity to break into the industry, providing hands-on training and technical instruction designed for aspiring technicians.

Program overview

Micron’s registered apprenticeship program utilizes the “earn and learn&quot; model which provides apprentices hands-on, on-the-job training while also affording them the flexibility to complete their education at the same time. Apprentices must enroll in an approved technical related certificate or 2-year associate degree. Apprentices can work as a Process Technician or Equipment Technician, depending on the location of their apprenticeship with Micron. We currently offer apprenticeships at our Idaho and Virginia fabs with plans to expand into other locations in the US.</p>\r\n<p>Apprentices receive competitive wages, progressive wage increases, health benefits, and tuition fees are covered by Micron. This program is registered with the Department of Labor and upon completion, apprentices receive a nationally recognized credential they can take anywhere.</p>\r\n"}}" id="text-08298bb472" class="cmp-text" data-ai-indexing="true" itemprop="text">

Micron’s Related Technical Instruction (RTI) providers

Apprentices must be enrolled or willing to enroll in one of our approved RTI programs, and live within close proximity to our Boise, Idaho or Manassas, Virginia locations. Micron celebrated the first graduating class of its Manassas registered apprenticeship program and welcomed its fifth cohort of apprentices during a ceremony at the company’s Manassas, Virginia site. The milestone reflects Micron’s continued investment in local talent development and accessible pathways into advanced semiconductor manufacturing careers.

Micron opened its new 60,000-square-foot training center in Boise to strengthen the skilled talent pipeline for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Located near Micron’s Boise campus, the center supp orts hands-on technical training, new-hire readiness and apprenticeship pathways in collaboration with education and industry partners.
