ABOUT LIVEKIT LiveKit is building the infrastructure layer for the voice-driven era of computing. Our platform gives developers everything they need to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe agents in production. Founded in 2021, LiveKit powers voice AI applications for OpenAI, xAI, Salesforce, Coursera, Spotify, and thousands of others, collectively facilitating billions of calls each year. ABOUT YOU Most legal leaders at a company our size spend their time building gates — the longer the review, the safer everyone feels. We see it differently. Legal at LiveKit exists to help us ship products and close deals faster, on the right side of the risk line. You would be our first dedicated lawyer, which means for a while you are the legal function: doing the work yourself, not handing it off — customer contracts, privacy, open source, corporate governance, and the genuinely novel questions that come with running real-time voice infrastructure for companies like OpenAI and xAI. A lot of this is unbuilt, so we are looking for someone who has done enough of it to have good instincts, and who is energized rather than daunted by a blank page.
