Hardware Quality Engineer

We are looking for a Hardware Quality Engineer to own and build the quality system across Lightspeed’s hardware ecosystem - payment terminals/readers, printers, networking, tablets and POS accessories - ensuring devices meet high performance standards, failures are contained early, and technical issues are resolved permanently across the portfolio. Our offices are in Montreal and Toronto. Priority will be given to candidates based in those cities or willing to relocate. What you’ll be responsible for - Define and maintain overall quality strategy which includes a consistent testing framework, quality gates, and acceptance criteria across the hardware portfolio. - Lead structured investigations into hardware failures, perform root cause analysis, identify containment plans and ensure they are executed. - Define and maintain the supplier performance monitoring, inspection plans for inbound inventory. - Support returns triage and disposition decisions. - Publish recurring quality dashboards and narratives for stakeholders and leadership. - Contribute as part of the wider team to achieve organisational objectives even if this means doing things that aren’t strictly within the scope of your role.
