Senior Software Engineer, Billing

TL;DR - WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS We’re hiring a Senior Engineer to own and evolve Scribe’s billing platform. This system sits at the center of how Scribe makes money, powering revenue across 5M+ users and 600K+ organizations. You’ll design and operate the infrastructure behind subscriptions, enterprise invoicing, pricing changes, and the subscription lifecycle. Parts of the system need hardening. Parts need redesign. You’ll do both. This is backend-heavy work with real architectural headroom and clear long-term expansion into entitlements and monetization systems. ABOUT THE ROLE Billing at Scribe is core infrastructure. It supports both our self-serve product and a growing enterprise business. It must remain financially correct, resilient under failure, and adaptable as revenue complexity increases. The challenge is not just processing payments. It’s designing systems that stay correct as pricing evolves, enterprise contracts grow more complex, and billing integrates more deeply with product access and reporting systems. You’ll join a small, focused team with meaningful ownership. You won’t be handed tightly scoped tickets.
