Schedule: Weekdays, Weeknights, Weekends NO Holidays A Registered Nurse for Home Infusion inserts, monitors and removes an IV used to give medications, blood products and nutrition to a patient. During the IV therapy, the nurse monitors the patient for adverse reactions and ensures that the tubing, bandages and needle stay in place. When a patient needs blood levels checked, an IV nurse performs veinous phlebotomy. During the entire IV therapy process, the nurse obtains sets of vital signs, completes the physical assessment and review of systems, documents all patient-related activities and records the medications she uses.
