This is a player-coach role for someone who has built and grown high-performing design teams without losing their own obsession with craft — the weight of a typeface, the rhythm of an interaction, the clarity of an information hierarchy — and who leads from the front in a new, AI-native way of building. You won't just direct the work; you'll be in it: prototyping, vibe coding, and shipping alongside the team. This role carries three things at its core.
