Public Policy Lead, U.S. States

Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games. As a Public Policy Advisor on the Public Policy/Government Relations team, you will support Discord’s work by building trust and finding common ground with policymakers, regulators, and other stakeholders with a focus on the U.S. States. This is a hybrid role based in our San Francisco HQ and reports to the company’s Director of Americas Public Policy. What you will do Introduce Discord to policymakers and other stakeholders including educating decision-makers on our mission, our products, and our investments in privacy and safety; Advocate for Discord’s position on key legislative and regulatory initiatives that will impact our users and our business Engage in public policy coalitions with peer companies and civil society organizations.
