Director, Field Engineering

In this role, you will lead first-line Managers and teams of pre-sales Solutions Architects , focusing on complex, strategic accounts and driving our expansion in Japan across manufacturing and automotive . You will partner closely with Sales to grow product consumption, while coaching sales and pre‑sales teams to operate as a single, high-performing unit. You are adept at articulating complex, business value‑focused solutions, supporting sophisticated enterprise sales cycles, and building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders in large Japanese corporations. This role reports to the Technical GM – Japan . The impact you will have Hire and manage first-line Managers and a growing team of technical pre‑sales Solutions Architects . Build a highly collaborative culture within a rapid‑growth team, embodying and promoting Databricks’ customer‑obsessed , team‑oriented , and diverse culture. Increase the return on investment of SA involvement in sales cycles by ensuring the right technical coverage and engagement model.
