What You’ll Do Work with recordings of natural, unscripted conversational English. Validate and adjust automatically generated speech boundaries using Praat. Produce verbatim, time-aligned orthographic transcriptions. Identify prosodic cues such as pauses, pitch resets, and final syllable lengthening. Review waveform and spectrogram views and confirm segmentation by ear. Preserve natural speech characteristics including disfluencies, false starts, overlaps, filled pauses, and non-linguistic sounds. Project Breakdown Segmentation Review and refine speech boundaries so that each interval reflects a coherent intonational phrase based on prosodic annotation conventions. Transcription Create accurate orthographic transcriptions that faithfully capture spontaneous speech production, including morphosyntactic variants, overlaps, mimicry, and reduced forms. Requirements Native or near-native proficiency in US English. Prior experience with transcription and familiarity with Praat, ADAP, or similar speech annotation
